GOALS
Increase access to queer/trans Asian communities, combat loneliness in identity journeys, and process collective experiences as queer/trans Asians

Mapping Our Intersectional Identities

Discuss cultural and familial dominant narratives around our identities
Discuss early messages about queer/trans identities

Week 2

Shame, Secrecy, and Survival Patterns

Discuss how shame and secrecy impact queer/trans identity journeys
Discuss how survival patterns show up in relationships and queerness

Week 3

Family and Boundaries

Discuss how Our Queer and Trans identities are received by our families
Discuss how to honor both our cultural heritage and queer/trans identities through boundaries that fit our queer Asian world

Week 4

Cis-Heterosexism and Internalized homophobia/transphobia

Discuss how our culture shapes our community’s understanding of gender, sexuality, and non-cishetero identities
Discuss how internalized homophobia/transphobia impacts our identity journeys

Week 5

Intimacy and Romantic Partnerships

Discuss how our queer Asian identities impact our intimacy and romantic partnerships
Discuss challenges in queer dating as queer Asians

Hopes and Dreams as Queer Asians

Discuss our hopes and dreams as queer Asians
Discuss any victories or any work-in-progress issues that impact our queer Asian identities

Dr. Wonbin (she/her) is a queer Asian Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the founder of Therapy for Queer Asians. With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Jung specializes in trauma-centered care for LGBTQ+ Asian Americans navigating anxiety, ADHD, cultural/sexual/gender identity, intergenerational trauma, and internalized homophobia/transphobia/racism.

Her work is rooted in liberation psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and identity-affirming practice. Dr. Jung offers individual and couples therapy & intensives that center healing for Asian American queer clients with trauma, anxiety, sexual shame, and toxic relationships.
